TOWN MEETING: Held on the first Tuesday of every March.

The Danville Town Meeting is held at the Danville School. The Town, Highway and School budgets are all voted on by Australian Ballot. The polls are open from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. All other voting is done from the floor.
PRIMARY ELECTION: A primary election shall be held on the second Tuesday in August in each even numbered year for the nomination of candidates of major political parties for all offices to be voted for at the succeeding general election, except candidates for president and vice president of the United States, their electors, and justices of the peace. 17 V.S.A. § 2351
GENERAL ELECTION: Held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November in each even numbered year.
During general elections in Vermont, elections are held for the positions of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Treasurer, Secretary of State, Auditor of Accounts, Attorney General, State Senator, State Representative, State’s Attorney, Sheriff, High Bailiff, County Clerk, and Probate Judge. Officials elected to these offices are elected for a term of two years.

To vote in the Town of Danville, you must be:
1 a citizen of the United States;
2. a resident of Vermont and a resident of the town of Danville;
3. take, or have previously taken, the Voter’s Oath; and
4. be 18 years of age or more.
Once you are registered to vote you do not need to re-register unless you move to a new town.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS: In Vermont it’s easy to vote. If you will be out of town, are on military duty overseas, or just prefer to vote early or by mail, you can vote by early voter absentee ballot. Voting starts as soon as ballots are available, not later than 45 days before the primary or general election and 20 days prior to a municipal election that uses the Australian Ballot.
