The Danville United Methodist Church will meet on the Town Green at the bandstand location on April 24, 2025 on Easter Sunday from 7am until 7:30am for an ecumenical church service. The service is open to all and will consist of singing of church hymn, readings and message from a lay person. This has been an annual tradition over the last 20 years, come one, come all!

HOP ON OVER to the POPE MEMORIAL LIBRARY in Danville this Wednesday morning, April 23rd.
This week’s STORYTIME is all about bunnies. Our Youth Librarian, Miss Marilyn, will read stories, everyone can join in to sing some songs and play some movement games and then we’ll make an adorable bunny mask. Snack always provided.
STORYTIME is most appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers but babies and older siblings are always welcome. It’s school vacation week – let’s have fun at the library.

Planning Commission meets the 4th Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm, except for November & December, then they meet the 2nd Thursday. Green Up bags are available outside the Danville Town Hall anytime or at Recycling Center on Saturday mornings.
Filled bags can be dropped off at the Recycling Center (448 Peacham Road) on Saturdays until noon.
- Only for Danville Residents or contractors working on Danville property.
- Only the following materials are acceptable for passive composting: yard waste (leaves, grass clippings, plant material, stumps, branches, etc.), untreated lumper: scrap wood (some nails ok), pallets: by law no painted, stained, or pressure treated wood; No construction waste such as sheet rock, concrete, brick, rock, metal, etc.
- Open (with volunteer attendants) on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the months of May through October from 8:00am until noon.
- Attendants must maintain a log including the name and address of users and the type and approximate weight of materials.

The DVIS will hold their annual meeting on Monday, May 5 at 5:30 pm at the Pope Library community building. We will elect officers, organize summer and fall flower plantings and involvement in the outdoor part of the Train Station/LVRT rehab. Please come and join a small group who enjoy getting their hands dirty and helping to keep Danville beautiful.
