Melissa Perley Brings Music to the LibraryShara McCaffrey • Director, Pope Memorial Library, Danville
When: Aug 6, 2025, 10:30 to 11:30 AM Pope Memorial Library is hosting Melissa Perley – Cellist, Farmer, Music Teacher and Author of The Violin Family – this coming Wednesday, August 6th. The event will be held in the Pope Community Center (the brick building right next door to the library) and the fun begins at 10:30am. This is our typical Storytime hour and our youngest Storytime friends will love it, and so will all those who are young at heart. All ages are invited to attend. There will be story reading, cello playing and children and adults can discover and explore the joy of string instruments at Melissa’s musical “petting zoo.” Yes, that’s right. String instruments will be set up and folks can pluck and strum and make music. PS. The Summer Lunch Program is still happening. After the presentation, stay for a picnic. Lunches will be picked up and delivered to the library and we will gather under the shade of our mature apple trees for a happy gathering after the presentation. We thank CLiF (the Children’s Literacy Foundation) for providing funding for this event.
